Trapez Bag
A woman can never have enough of them: BAGS!
Winter bag, summer bag, shopping bag, sports bag, clutch, rucksack - there is the right model for every occasion. And yes, we need them ALL!!!
Without a bag we feel...so incomplete. They are our figureheads and the icing on the cake of every outfit. This is where we carry our survival kits, mobile offices and half our medicine cabinet. Cookies, lipsticks, safety pins - we always have everything with us! (You never know!)
Do you love self-sewn DIY fashion? Do you love enhancing your outfits with great accessories?
Then the TRAPEZ BAG is just the thing for you! It offers 2 convertible looks: unfolded it is a shopper, with the sides folded inwards it becomes a trapezoid. To keep the bag's trapezoidal silhouette, you can sew a carabiner and a counterpart between the trim and lining from the inside on both sides.

Attention, the SIDE PART LINING must be shortened by 5cm
Fabric consumption: approx. 1m x 1m imitation leather (outer fabric) and 1m x 1m lining fabric
Handle
Fold the fabric strips right sides together lengthwise, sew, turn and topstitch from the right side on both sides.
Ruffle
Tip: You can cut the ruffle longer than indicated. Unfortunately, imitation leather does not ruffle as nicely as fabrics with a sewing machine. You can fold the ruffle with a fork. Make sure you watch this video!
Pin the finished ruffle to the side of the large part (front part of the bag) and sew close to the edge with an auxiliary seam first.
Pin and sew the side part of the bag to the front part with the ruffle.
Lining
Inner pockets
Pin and sew the inside pocket to the front piece of lining fabric, right sides together.
Press the seam and topstitch. Fold the inside pocket inwards. To prevent these 3 layers of fabric from shifting, topstitch the side edges of the fabric close to the edge.
Repeat the same on the other side. Please note, this pocket has 2 inside pockets.
Pin and sew the side pieces to the front piece. Leave a turning opening open on one side.
Fold the side pieces in half and mark these points. Sew a carabiner on one side and a counterpart (e.g. a metal ring) on the other. Ribbon length: 6 cm
Close the facing to form a ring, pin it to the pocket made of lining fabric right sides together and sew.
Pin the outer pocket to the lining, right sides together, and sew the upper edges of the fabric together.
