MRS MAERZ DRESS PATTERN

frau_maerz is one of the best-known content creators in the German-speaking world for sewing, DIY and fashion. Andrea's style is characterized by simple shapes, bold colors and timeless, yet modern and trendy design.

The pattern is available in sizes 36-46. The seam allowances are not included in the pattern.

The seam allowances are not included in the pattern.

The pattern consists of 30 A4 pages and is assembled as follows:

Front part:
A 1-2, B 1-2, C 1-2-3, D 1-2-3
Back part:
E 1-2, F 1-2-3, G 1-2-3, H 1-2-3

Sleeves, collar, pockets, neckline trim
I 1-2-3, J 1-2-3, K 1-2-3

The pattern does not include a seam allowance.
Press interfacing onto wrong side of collar pieces, facing and a strip onto wrong side of fabric at front slit edges.

Stitch the neckline facing to the slit, right sides together.
Fold the facings lengthwise, wrong sides together in the seam line.
Cut diagonally into the front piece at the lower slit end close to the seam.
Place seam allowances inside the facing.
Topstitch the facings together 0.2 cm wide.
Also topstitch the other edge of the facing 0.2 cm wide.
Turn the facing at the lower slit end to the wrong side of the fabric.
Turn the point of the notch to the wrong side and topstitch close to the seam across the point and the facings.

Back section
Place the pleat on the back piece as marked and pin in place on the seam allowance.
Pin and sew this piece to the shoulder yoke, right sides together.

Topstitch shoulder seams.

Collar

Topstitch one collar piece to the neckline. Seam allowance overlaps the facing. Topstitch the collars together. Turn right side outwards. Topstitch the collar 0.2 cm along the neckline. Topstitch the collar 0.2 cm wide.

Insert sleeves

Pockets

Pin and sew the pocket bags to the side seam edges of the front and back pieces.
Make seam allowance-deep incisions in the top and bottom edges of the pocket openings of the back piece and place seam allowances on the side of the back piece and topstitch close to the edge.
Work the seam allowances of the front pocket bags in the same way.

Sleeve and side seams
Sew the side seams first from the sleeve hem edges to the markings on the top edge of the pocket opening and then from the markings on the bottom edge of the pocket opening to the hem edge.

Hem
Turn the hem allowance on the lower sleeve edges outwards, fold in another 1 cm and topstitch in place.
Turn the hem allowance on the bottom edge of the dress inwards and topstitch in place.
